Indoor plumbing – my Great Grandfather, George Wilby Keesee didn’t have indoor plumbing until late in life in his home in Centralia, WA. I remember having to walk through the kitchen to go outside to use the bathroom. It was a room that was added on much later. Prior to that, it was an outhouse according to Grandma Lucy (his second wife).
TV – My mom didn’t have
a TV until much later in life. She grew
up listening to the radio and its shows like Only the Shadow Knows. We didn’t have a color TV until I was
probably a teenager. I remember our TV
having tubes.
Other than those two
things, I really don’t know how technology changed the lives of my ancestors.
